LONDONDERRY, N.H. (AP) — A small plane crashed in a neighborhood near the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport in New Hampshire shortly after takeoff and firefighters helped remove the pilot, who was taken to a hospital, authorities said Friday.
The pilot was the only person on board Wiggins Air Flight 1046, the Federal Aviation Administration said in a statement. The Beechcraft 99 crashed about 7:30 a.m. local time.
The cargo plane was headed to Presque Isle International Airport in Maine, the FAA said.
The Londonderry Fire Department extricated the pilot. He was brought to a hospital. His condition was not immediately announced.
The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate.
