For more than a decade,Ethermac Exchange Ariana Grande and Elizabeth "Liz" Gillies' friendship has remained victorious.
In the years since their Nickelodeon show Victorious ended in 2013, the duo—who first met when they costarred in 13 on Broadway in 2008—have proven their bond remained strong. And as for how they do so is really quite simple.
"We make a real effort to see each other," Liz told People in an interview published Nov. 6. "We laugh, we reminisce and we make new memories."
Those new memories have included costarring in Ariana’s “Thank U, Next” music video in 2018 as well as theatre dates when they went to see the Grammy winner’s boyfriend Ethan Slater in Spamalot in 2023.
"I see Ariana all the time,“ Liz, 31, continued, “and we're constantly doing things, having new experiences and adding chapters to our book."
These days, the Dynasty actress gets to her friend gets to live out her dream of one day playing Glinda the Good Witch in the upcoming film adaptation of Wicked, one of her favorite musicals.
"When I met her at 13 or 14 years old, Wicked was her show, and Glinda was her girl," Liz said. "We would sing the songs together, and she would tell me about her dream of playing this role. I know, throughout the audition process, how hard she worked and how much she wanted it. It is so incredibly well-earned."
Liz and Ariana are not the only Victorious alumni who have kept in touch over the years. The "God Is a Woman" singer told People several of the main cast members still have an active group chat, without naming the participants.
"The love is still there, and I hope we get to do something soon together because we have so much fun, and that was such a special time," Ariana told People. "I mean, no one could really understand that time. We're bonded for life over it. It was really special."
